"Welcome to Tenkasi District"

The new Tenkasi district was bifurcated from Tirunelveli in 2019. Tenkasi District is located in the south western region of Tamilnadu. It is surrounded by Tirunelveli district in the south east and Virudhunagar in the North. The total geographical area of the district is 2882.44sq.kms. It comprises of 8 Talukas 5 Municipalities, 18 Town panchayaths, 246 revenue villages, 221 village panchayaths.

The Chittar river flows through the district. The famous Coutrallam Falls is on Chittar River. The waterfalls of Courtallam are said to have medicinal value as they run through forest and herbs before their descent. Courtallam is called as "Spa of South India." Tamil poet ThirikoodaRasappaKavirayar sang about the beauty of this place in his "KutraalaKuravanji".

Capital Subsidy

25% subsidy on eligible plant & machinery (Max: ₹150 lakh), including Trust Sector Enterprises (Max: ₹15 lakh), except for LTPT and additional capital subsidy, except for scaling up.

Stamp Duty

New Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) established in 254 designated industrially backward blocks are eligible for 50% reimbursement of stamp duty and registration charges paid to the Registration Department.

Payroll Subsidy Guidelines

Eligible manufacturing units can avail reimbursement of EPF contributions for the first three years, up to ₹24,000 per employee per year, if they employ more than 20 individuals.

Low Tension Power Tariff (LTPT)

The Low Tension Power Tariff (LTPT) Subsidy in Tamil Nadu provides a 20% subsidy on power consumption charges for the first 36 months for MSMEs using low-tension power supply.

CO-OPERATIVE

Industrial Cooperatives have been organised with two objectives namely social and economic upliftment of the people living below the poverty line.

Industrial Cooperatives, a wing of the Department of Industries and Commerce, plays a vital role

1. In providing gainful employment to the rural people in general and women in particular through production type Industrial Co-operative Societies.
2. In eliminating the exploitation of workers by middlemen through Labour Contract Cooperative Societies.
3. In arranging for market for the products of rural artisans through Handicrafts Cooperative Societies.
4. In providing infrastructural facilities including developed industrial sites or sheds to the small scale and tiny sector entrepreneurs through Cooperative Industrial Estates.
